One Minute To Midnight Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad & Jean-Francois Hamel ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada When misery loves company, take their stance unconsciously Afraid of shining through, fear what one can do Sweeping chains of dread, things are left unsaid, no regards… For hands that bled Lying coast to coast, manning military posts You gotta stop…It’s a minute to midnight Chorus Your powers schemed beyond a measure Life without a single displeasure High on your hog, you’re bowing down to your demagogue Your ugly realisticity brings you to your hypocrisy A hierarchy of frivolity, go to hell and screw it Your gaze is dull, you’re mind’s a haze, you’re labeled as a castaway Push on through with no excuse, going on despite the news Fighting waves that burn, aching hearts that want a small return… Open wounds that hide in view, never mind the pain You can’t stop…It’s a minute to midnight Chorus Stay inside don’t be surprise, there’s nothing you can do to hide Your money’s there to keep your spirit in Keep you lines and learn, stay your bliss and false concerns, look away… You close your eyes choose to be, impaled in your mediocrity You gotta stop…It’s a minute to midnight

I Can't Breathe Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad & Oisin Little ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada Shut the door, don't throw away the key Turn around, don't look, just drop down to your knees No time to think about your sorry next of kin It's a permanent decision based on the color of your skin CHORUS Black or white, don't matter what you've seen Brown, yellow, pink 'n red, don't care what they mean Unsaid, misled, stopped dead, misread, give 'em some lead It's a broken connection, an impulse I can't breathe I can't breathe I don't understand the way it has to be It's a sad solution for the human color scheme A devolution for a quick substitution A writ of execution for the counter-revolution CHORUS I can't breathe, I'm pinned underneath This heavy weight bequeathed by their official sheathes Garner, Chambers, Brown and Crawford too These friends they tell me I need to give this to you CHORUS I need to breathe Let me breathe I want to breathe I will breathe

Bring You Water Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad & Oisin Little ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada You’re in the desert and you’re all dry It’s been 6 days since your camel died That oasis, it was never there That bone dried wish fell right into the well I bring you water, to quench your thirst I bring you water I bring you water - awoohooo I bring you water – woo hoo hoo I see they let you in to hell A VIP pass was waiting for you at the gates Seems like a lot of people who knew you well But now you’re hankering for a lollipop, ice cream and cake I bring you water, to quench your thirst I bring you water I bring you water - awoohooo I bring you water – woo hoo hoo The demons they’re peeling back your skin They poke you with their dirty sharp things The skin beneath your skin it stings And there you are, at a standstill I bring you water, to quench your thirst I bring you water I bring you water - awoohooo I bring you water – woo hoo hoo You look up at the ceiling and count your blessings It was all but a dream and not a sweet drop of sweat was spilt And then you get up and look out the window There he is waitin’ on the curb Swayin’, and he's sayin' I bring you water, to quench your thirst I bring you water I bring you water - awoohoo I bring your water to bring you down to your knees

Howzat 06:21
Howzat Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad & Oisin Little ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada They say that summertime’s when the living in easy But I…I’m not so sure Summertime is like one big dream that everyone looks forward to When it’s finally here, it does you no good ‘Cause when the air is hot and your sins leak out in the rain That’s when you wanna wrap up your secrets in cellophane Oh baby hush now, don’t you cry Hush, hush baby, just give it a sigh Ain't nobody lookin' out for you, howzat for something to chew Ain’t nobody gonna do things for you, howat for something to pursue Sweat drips down your forehead and you don’t give a damn ‘Cause you know it’s gonna sting when it trickles down to your eyes. Salt from your tears has nothing on the deed he’d done Are you so sure? How’s about that cure? You know when you wipe it off, you risk running your mascara And your heels get they caught in the bloodied carpet. Oh baby hush now, don’t you cry Hush, hush baby, just give it a sigh Ain't nobody lookin out for you, howzat for something Ain’t nobody doing things for you? Howat for something She runs out in her Jimmy Choos sinking into the grass Cement. That’s all she can think of. Standing on this muggy day She twists her back to look down at her heels and yeah, There ain’t no surprise, there’s mud clinging on to them there stilettos highs Cement. That’s all she can think of Cement. What a ride. Oh baby hush, don’t you cry Hush, hush baby, give it a sigh Aint nobody lookin out for you, howzat for something to chew Ain’t nobody wanting things for you? Howzat for something

Wanna Say We're Through Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad & Oisin Little ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada I’m waking up to your ways in this filthy rotten place Socks all over the floor, and the sink full of dirty plates Yes I’m wakin’ up, yes I’m wakin’ up I wanna say we’re through, But I keep waking up next to you You stay in bed all day, you eat your supper late, Nothin’ but booze in the house, man you’re a total disgrace Yes I’m wakin’ up, yes I’m wakin’ up I wanna say we’re through, But I keep waking up next to you I'm sweet on you, you're sweet on me too But you rag, you nag, complain, is that the worst that you can do You say you're going to leave me, you haven't left me yet And each and every evening, you find your way into my bed It's plain to see why you keep waking up next to me Paychecks gone to waste and the bills remain unpaid I can’t get a break, my life’s a dead-end arcade Yes I’m wakin’ up, yes I’m wakin’ up I wanna say we’re through, But I keep waking up next to you I’m a fool to let this go on, I paid all my dues My minds been berate, you treated it as bait Yes I’m wakin’ up, yes I’m wakin’ up I wanna say we’re through, But I keep waking up next to you Why don't you relax? Do you have to get so mad? You'd pack your bags if it really was that bad But there's something between us, of that you can't deny You said it yourself that when we … oh my oh my! You have to agree to keep on waking up next to me Solo I wanna say we’re through But I keep waking up next to you I wanna say we’re through But I keep waking up next to you I wanna say we’re through But I keep waking up next to you

All That Matters Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad & Oisin Little ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada I’m riding red eye, the express My shoes, my life and my old dress I have a secret in disguise no make-up cannot hide All that matters is gone now Leaving troubles far behind Going nowhere til it’s over Looking back I cannot see the wrongs and pains you did to me All that matters is gone now CHORUS Waiting here with bated breath Falling, sinking, voiceless Silently a little scream, The tears whenever they begin At the expense of common sense I shouldn’t have played on this pretense To be the end of a bad joke where the punch line is broke All that matters is gone now Nothing, (but nothing) will have changed Everything is oh so strange You take my heart to bleed and then my soul to feed All that matters is gone now CHORUS I’m riding red eye, the express My shoes, my life and my old dress I have a secret in disguise no make-up cannot hide All that matters is gone now

Nothin' Doin' Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad & Jean-Francois Hamel ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada It was a joke, he really wasn’t broke The man at the store, he kept asking for more He tried his best, but he just wasn’t blessed He didn’t know he kept taking the blows That love affair, it was off and on That stone on the lawn, was paid from a pawn In the end it was too much to bear The room was empty, ‘cause nobody cared Chorus Standin’ in the doorway watchin’ the world go by Not a worry, not even a sigh A wink and a nudge you really prejudged Sitting on stoop you got nothing to lose A smidgen of hope you just lay there and mope You close your eyes I say my goodbyes It was a mess I really must confess I took a look there was nothing in the books Inhaled my smokes, when I lost all hope Who cares, I don’t, why should I atone Chorus A little push will do you some good But it’s your choice you got nothing but a voice Life is easier if you make it dreamier There’s nothin’ doin’ when you’re headed on your own

Prayer 03:16
Prayer Words and Music: Carolyn-Fe Trinidad ©August 1, 2018, Montreal, Canada Take me up to the sacred mountains Help me up to wash my soul Take me up to feel the rain Help me ease my weary bones Help me heal my sins and anger Let me take the first step home Help me wait a little longer Let me pray for my lost soul CHORUS Lord I hear your call of candor Lord I fear I'm all alone Lord I want your peaceful prayer Let me stand up on my own Come and take my fear and rancor Throw it down the muddy shores Let there be no vicious slander Nowhere near these hallowed doors

about

After a four-year silence, Carolyn Fe is back and stronger than ever with her 4th album SUGAT KO (pronounced “sue-gat go”) meaning My Wound - translated from her native tongue, Tagalog (Philippines). A 10-song album where Carolyn Fe drops her "malong" to reveal her truest self and to heal the wounds of the past.

The album ventures into new blues territory; introducing the audience with masterful twists on the traditional Filipino tribal rhythms and sounds combined with timely lyrics - all kick-ass, poignant and unquestionably original. This album is not for the Blues purist. Sugat Ko is modern and relative to the current world climate, but at once classic with hints of traditional that is not necessarily your definition there of, this is definitely not your Grandma’s blues. Carolyn Fe dares you to step out of your comfort zone with the Blues. www.carolyn-fe.com
